Specs: Windows 7
Random but had to ask because of a situation that happened awhile back. If somebody completely wipes your hard drive clean of EVERYTHING, w/o u knowing of course, and now your back in the stone age with your pc if you had a System Restore Point b4 would that still exist for you to use it or is that gone with everything else u had on your computer?

When a drive s fully erased (wiped) everything goes... But with suitable software one can often recover lost data at least.

Whether or not one can recover and re-activate a full partition similarly - ???

For someone to completely wipe the hard drive in a way to make the files unrecoverable, using DBAN for example, would take several hours. If someone were to do a simple format or delete partitions, the files might be recoverable. System Restore is part of Windows, so if Windows is gone, all System Restore Points are gone too. They can't be used to do a full recovery anyways. If you're concerned someone is going to get into your computer & do damage while you're not around, I suggest you make regular backups of the entire system & store them in a safe place.

"they formatted the drive and I could recover nothing"

I assume you couldn't recover anything because you don't know how? or didn't know how at the time?
