Solved OS/2 or ArcaOS - who is using it?

I would like to know if there is anyone out there still using OS/2, or ArcaOS 5 (BlueLion). I was an OS/2 Warp 3 user for about a year, an to be honest it was okay, but not to great on hardware support. I wound up replacing it with Windows 95.

Anyway, I would appreciate hearing about what people, if any, think of ArcaOS.

Happy computing!

I never heard of ArcaOS before but I did some searching. My question(s) to you is, why would you want (or need) to run it? What will you use it for?

It only seems to be of any use to those with legacy OS/2 applications.

I did manage a fairly large OS/2 server network many years ago, and ran OS/2 workstation myself, for a number of years. As server software it was superb and rock solid (one of our servers was on a remote site and ran 24/7 for years without attention), but the desktop experience was a bit limited. Nowadays it's time is long past. I can't see any reason to run OS/2 rather than Windows or Linux.

I am not installing OS/2, I just wanted to see if anyone uses it. I do not know anyone that still uses it, but I have tried it in a VM.

I know Microsoft had been working with IBM, and Windows NT 3.1 was a result of MS doing an in-house project while working with IBM.

OS/2 was obscure then, and even more so now.

Also I just noticed under Related Solutions the OS/2 forum is closed.

Again, just a question about usage, not a request for assistance. I enjoy reading the comments too.
