Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know about a section that was added to the My Computing.Net homepage. This section is called "Medals and Progress." It shows what medals you have on the site, along with how close you are to the next medals in any given category.

I hope it helps some people out!

Thanks,
Justin

Whenever I look at that screen, I half expect an AJAX-y popup saying, "Achievement unlocked: The Lounge - Gold," or something similar. I blame Steam.

Razor,

Haha, that would be cool. Right now though, that isn't really how the system works. I might change to something that would allow that in the future.

I just went and had a look and noticed it doesn't say anything on mine about the Networking forum which is where I spend the majority of time on here.

I'm not sure if this is intentional or something to do with the site but I figured you might like to know.

Hey,

Thanks for the feedback. Does it say you have a gold on networking under "Medals Earned?" If you have a gold, there is no higher medal, therefore it wouldn't show any "Medal Progress." Is that what you mean?

Hey Justin,

Not sure what you did, if anything, but "Networking" is now showing up whereas it wasn't before.

Thanks!

Hey,

I didn't do anything... Maybe it was a bug, that's why I'd be interested to know where networking wasn't showing up. Was it under "Medals Earned?"

Which list? Medals Earned or Medal Progress?

Yes, when I first looked after reading this post, it wasn't showing under "Medals Earned"

But it is there now........go figure

Re #8
Sorry, I meant the Medal Progress bar chart. Can't see Windows XP listed.

Maybe I'm going blind because I can't see Windows 95/98 listed there either.

If it depends on where you've been helping then that might account for W95/98 but I've probably been more active on XP than anywhwere else in recent years.

Derek,

Yeah, it wouldn't be listed in there... If you already have a Gold, there is no higher medal. Therefore, the progress is complete! I think I might change the wording to make that clearer.

Curt,

Are you 100% sure? I've been playing with like every possible combination in the backend, and I am unable to reproduce it.

Oh, I see - only just spotted it because I browsed to The Lounge, so maybe I didn't study it enough. Is it real gold or a cheap plastic imitation LOL?
