Solved Inconsiderate posters (plus two extra words to reach quota)

It's been a while since I've been around, and I just revisited some of my old haunts here. I am astonished at the inconsideration of posters who ask for help get suggestions, and then simply do not bother responding.

I also am amazed at the lack of grammar skills many of the posters use. Maybe a lot of them are ESLers, but not all. Our public educational system is going down the tubes, despite enormous budgets.

I'm actually wondering if it would help to qualify questioners more. I'm almost wondering if they could be charged a fee. Sometimes you don't value something if it comes too cheaply.

This is what drove me away a while back, because I began to feel I was wasting my time.

Welcome back Paul. We've unfortunately become somewhat accustomed to newcomers / first timers who post one-line questions with little or no system information & poor descriptions of their problems and then fail to respond when asked to provide more detail. This phenomenon seems to have coincided with the take-over/merger of C.N with Tom's. We do realize that without that development the forum may have folded for lack of funding so we take the bad with the good and continue to contribute to the community.
If you've been away a while you might not have seen some of the things Justin has implemented to provide some little recognition to those of us who frequent the forum.
Hover over your name and you see your rank. Stick around long enough and they might even award you with a title of Tech. They also recently gave many of us a highly useful and practical gift in the form of an 8gb usb stick. But for me at least I don't hang around here for the sake of recognition or in hope of freebies. It is for self-education. I learn a lot by reading here and gain a small degree of satisfaction if I get to answer some-one's question.

Thanks, Richard. I appreciate your gracious reply. I'm not trying to be negative, but to point out a dynamic that I think is unhealthy. Be well.
