Solved Have I been leaked???

June 22, 2017 at 09:18:09
Specs: several
The big news yesterday evening was that data on millions of
people was exposed (presumeably by mistake) to public download
over the Internet, by a contractor to the US Republican party. I did
not hear anything about how the data was originally acquired.
Is there any way to find out if it included data on me?

mmm If you start to notice service/utility vans parked in your immediate neighbourhood and not really doing much, or a lot of attention being given to phone and hydro poles in your area... then - mmm?

Equally if you start to feel cars/vans etc. are apparently following you?

And then if a really good looking lady starts to chat you up... then mmm indeed... Either suddenly your aftershave is really hot stuff - or...?

Once they read a handful of your posts such as the one about hurricane lamp chimneys, how to add an LED light to a freezer, or how to get rid of a 30 year old TV, they will put you on a "nothing to see here" list.

oh no... "they" will see all of those posts as coded messages to the aliens, and really start watching etc...; and quite possibly include the rest of here too - in-case we are also involved in covert communications...

The data is said to be on more than 198 million Americans, over
61% of the population of the USA.

Oh, great. I just learned that the name of the contractor is
"Deep Root". Swell.

Here's a tip - use passwords that are really easy to crack, such as password. That way, if "they" track something back to your IP address, there will no easy way to prove it was actually you who did "it". "They" will discover how simple your password is & realize that anyone who visits your apartment has the ability to discover your password & then masquerade online as you. Better yet, write it down & tape it to your monitor or keyboard. Then make sure to have lots of people over to your place all the time. Beat "them" at their own game!

That's pretty neat. It might not cover the particular data leak which
prompted the thread, but it appears to include a lot.
