Give me a blue screen that says:

Aproblem has been detected yadda yadda yadda.................

You're screwed, your spouse has given you gonorrhea!!

If this is the first time you've gotten gonorrhea go to the doctor and file for divorce. If you get it again maybe you deserved it given the sexual partners you tend to lay with.

Check to make sure the rest of your family is clean. If there is someone new in your life suspect that person and remove them from your little circle of friends.

If you continue to contract diseases either shut up and live with it or become a hermit and live alone. This is afterall the only real safe mode of life.

Technical imformation:

Life is taking a dump on you
When it is done you may want to shoot yourself.
A support group may help but we doubt it.

That just makes it better, if you ask me, "Well, I don't know what you did, but you broke it good."

But I'm a horrible person.

Remember, the crash on command is built into the PS2 driver. If you have a USB keyboard, that key combo will do nothing.

I let her have it for a minute. "What in the hell did you do? It was working just fine when I left. Oh geeze now I am going to have to dig through it for the next week to figure out what you screwed up."

When she found out the truth she was not at all amused with me. It was fun though.

Well that was annoying. It does work with a usb keyboard but I really don't see it as a gag though. First you have to alter the registry on the computer this gag is to be played on then reboot cause the crash then reboot again to recover. Then you have to explain yourself to whome evers computer you just crashed and hope he or she allows you to remove the dword from the registry and not shoot you afterwards. I can't see how it could be fun to do it to your own computer. Who ever you are trying to impress is going to be real impressed that you can seemingly damage your own equipment.

Oh yeah let's totally confuse the poor guy. If he's been playing in windows long enough that he's getting BSOD but not yet long enough that the blue screen still scares him linux is going to be about as much help as a strike anywhere match in the middle of a forest fire.

re: "I can't see how it could be fun to do it to your own computer."

Likely,

Did you read any of the comments on that page?

Here's one of the reasons people might "do it" to their own computer:

"For people who are actually geeks there is a reason for this. If you have
an app that stops the system from responding normally but does not actually
crash the OS this can be VERY helpful in finding the cause of the problem
because it forces Windows to create a crashdump log that can be investigated
to see what processes are running and what function calls they are executing
when the problem occurs."

For some folks, troubleshooting a technical problem can be a lot of fun.

I completely get all of that Derby. I didn't say I saw no use for it. It was offered up here to use as a gag not a tool. It is in this that I meant I could not see the fun in it. "Click here to fool your friends." It is this I do not see the fun in. I don't see it as fun to fool my friends into thinking I can crash my own computer. I can see how using this as a diagnostic tool can be fun in that it can be used to both point one in the right direction and teach you something. As a gag to "fool" your friends??? This is where computereater lost me.

Derby, how do you see that log? but anyways, you really do get a BSOD, but the way that its fooling your friends is the fact that it looks so scary that it would make your friend scared and that you activated the crash dump with easy code (key code! lol) and that its critical. ITS NOT. BACK TO BSOD IMAGES MWAHAHAHAHAHA

how do you see that log?
If your primary disk isn't Dynamic, and you have a swap file larger than your total RAM, it'll dump your memory to the page file. On the next reboot, it'll save that data to either %SystemRoot%\MiniDump or %SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP depending on your settings.

To read it, you need the Debugging Tools, but then you're headed into the realm of professionals.
