Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Microsoft's next major Windows 10 update will come on October 17th. Discuss here if you think Microsoft's future-proof Windows 10 operating system is working out as expected, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

First of all MS continue to be useless at naming things. "Fall" update is all very well but without a date it will be meaningless in the future. Think how many different "Outlooks" there have been and Windows Defenders.

As for the situation well it's kinda shaking out. The snag is that the features update cycle seems to be "wreck the system, put it right, then wreck it again as soon as it starts to become stable". In my case the sound will get messed up yet again and I will then spend my time putting it back together as usual.

The ones with the best Windows 10 were those who had it on the hardware when purchased. Many upgrades from previous operating systems are still messy and I gave up trying to update one machine at the Anniversary Update. It can only be used with all updates stopped.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

By the time they (M$-land moonbeams) fix win-10 and all its subsequent updates - under whatever names they get - it will be well past its sell by date; and likely have been replaced with Mac-Linux-Windows - OSXLnx-xxx

Derek your statement "First of all MS continue to be useless at naming things. " is spot on. Fall in Australia is well into our summer and its our Autumn, a date would be far more informative.
