Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Walmart's online sales grew faster than Amazon's last quarter. Discuss here if you think Walmart can become an online powerhouse, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

Well, I would guess that Walmart only lists Walmart merchandise, therefore controls the price. Amazon has many vendors under its hat.

Price is important to most folks.

For my own reasons I stopped using Amazon. I then found that they were by no means the cheapest option on the web.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I have tended to double check Amazon's prices against others; as like Derek I have noted that Amazon isn't "always" the best.

Delivery charges may affect the overall price/deal too; especially if one looks at the Prime subscription on Amazon and doesn't use it often enough to justify that annual fee, and compares that to one off delivery charge(s) for Amazon and other sites?

Walmart have sometimes been cheaper in-store than elsewhere; but on-line?

Walmart's prices online are the same as in the store. The selections may be better. They also carry merchandise online that isn't in the store. I bought a number of items from Walmart that way. Ironically, I don't do much regular shopping at Walmart. Not convenient for me.

Derek, trvlr and I were commenting on age and we came to the conclusion that you MAY be the old curmughin around here, LOL.

curmughin

Yeah, maybe, but that's not the worst name I've been called.

Derek, if I overstepped then I apologize. Maybe my humor needs some work.

No problem at all, I didn't take it the wrong way. I've known you on the forum too long to do that.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Amen to that. I remember when Derek announced he was retiring from CN. He didn't stay away for long and since then he has been regularly posting. I guess mama is OK with the time spent?

Leaving, yeah, I really meant it at the time but regret that I went as far as announcing it. Someone on this forum has since left and that helped a lot but as much as anything I came back because I find this place a bit like a drug.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
