Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Verizon has agreed to buy Yahoo's core internet businesses for $4.8 billion. Discuss here if you think Verizon can successfully leverage this purchase, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

I think sooner or later the bubble(s) will burst.

All these £, $ etc. billions have to come from somewhere and I suspect much is from advertising..

The www is truly ww and reaches a vast audience, However if a company's advertisement is clicked, but no business results, it is not cost effective. Companies using such methods to reach customers may not be able to afford continuing in this way.

It is my understanding Verizon purchased Yahoo for access to their customer base. As a long term Yahoo user, I do not recall purchasing anything as a result of an advert on a Yahoo webpage.

Good Luck - Keep us posted.
