Hi all,

This week's poll question is about the release of the long anticipated Star Wars movie. Discuss here if you think it will live up to the hype, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

I remember when the 1st Star Wars was released in the late 70s. I bunch of my friends & I piled into a car & went to see it on opening night. We got there early & it was like a tailgate party in the parking lot. Beer drinking, weed smoking, etc, etc. There were so many people packed in the theater that we couldn't even sit together as a group.

I don't know if The Force Awakens will live up to the hype or not, but I will definitely be going to see it. We're having an unusually warm winter here in WNY & one of the local drive-ins re-opened just to cash in on it. They're showing it on 4 screens.

At the time of its first release Star Wars was a very innovative product: Fantasy with spaceships. Today young generation likely loves another kind of toys. And Yes, at that time I watched Lukas' movie with my girl mate, but fourty years later I shall not return to a theater with that girl, now my wife, though I still love her as that night.

At 50+ I just wait for it to appear on TV.
Not into hype anymore; been there , done that , moved on...

Given what ticket and concession-stand prices are---would I go? Not just no but hell no.

Bravo! You are smart to not contribute to the actors luxurious lifestyles.

I only saw the first two Star Wars movies when they first came out. I will also wait until it comes on tv in the future. I hear a lot of good reviews on it, but I was never into it at all. I'm also not into $12.00 popcorn etc. I'll pop my own and watch it in my living room eventually.

To be honest I don't think it's real.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Well, the better half and myself went to the Monday Matinee at the newly remodeled show we like. They installed wide electrical recliners. Really comfortable and lots of room to walk, even with the seats reclined. The cost was $6 bucks each (Senior discount). Had large popcorn and drink for another $10. Got free refills on both. Movie was good but not as cutting edge as the originals. Watching a movie like Star Wars on TV just doesn't have the same impact as the bigger than life images at the show.
