Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Microsoft has announced a preview of its own "Spotlight Search" for Windows called "PowerToys Run." Discuss here if you think Microsoft should be implementing this Mac-like feature, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

A new Spotlight-like launcher app has been released for Microsoft Windows 10. Designed by developers to replace and modernize existing Win + R shortcuts, the new Powertois Run Launcher is able to quickly find apps and files on Windows, plugins like a calculator, and the ability to find running processes is.

This new Spotlight early version will support basic search functions that are typically controlled by the built-in Windows Start Menu search functionality. But Microsoft plans to make it a more powerful launcher that is similar to Alfred on MacOS and more functional than Apple's Spotlight Search.

The current Windows 10 + R functionality is basic and is used by Windows Power users to launch shortcuts such as control panels in areas such as CMD prompts, Regedit, power instances, and even Windows.
