Hi all,

This week's poll question is about the hype surrounding SMS donations for the Haitian relief ever. Discuss here if you would donate money via SMS, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

I won't but not because of anything involving the red cross or anything like that. I did something like that a few years back and my cell carrier screwed it up and I got charged 6 times the donation. It took 3 months to straighten out. Even though I hold no church afiliation we have one locally that is well trusted by many from my family and others in the area. I have made a donation through them. They are puting a package together that some of the members are taking down themselves. A few friends and family members are going down with them to help anyway they can.

I still think they should take Pat Robertson down so he can explain to every man woman and child there that it is all their fault for making a deal with the devil. That man not only makes me glad I don't belong to the church he also emberrrasses me to be an American right now. I might be willing to use SMS to make a donation for the hit on him.

I want to go like my grandfather did. Peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming at the top of my lungs like the passengers in his car.

I don't know if I will contribute now or wait and see what happens to other countries on the same fault line.

I haven't yet heard anything about the Dominican Republic
or Cuba.

Haiti seems to have the worst luck. Bad Government hurricanes and now the worst earth quake in 200 years.

I also wonder what will happen if Florida opens her doors to any refugees from Haiti.

To see the fault line

I could donate by SMS, depending on the organization & the circumstances involved. However, I prefer donating via the web & I usually do so through GuideStar.

I agree with you likelystory. When I heard what this blowhard said I sent him an e-mail telling him off. No profanity was used, though I would have loved to.
