Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Sling TV has been adding more channels to its live streaming service. Discuss here if you think these types of technology will pressure cable companies to change their business models, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

For better explanation of what this is all about, Sling is the way TV should be - with far fewer channels compared to cable TV (scroll down the pages) and no coaxial cables.

I think the cable companies will always be competitive. I have cable and for me it seems to be easier than streaming tv. The cable company I'm with already has a lot of wifi hotspots and an app to watch on your devices. I, personally, think people should do a lot less "watching", and a lot more "doing". I can safely say that the vast majority of tv channels offered suck. There are nights when I surf through all the channels and can't find anything to watch. The new sitcoms aren't funny and are way to overdone dramatically. I can sit through a whole night of Saturday Night Live and not even crack a smile. That show went in the dumper years ago. I'm kind of getting of the subject here and ranting. Anyhow, it will be head to head competition in years to come for all forms of media. even if it does suck, someone will always be willing to "watch" whatever they throw at you. Amen.......
