Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Samsung has filed a patent for a phone that can fold in half. Discuss here if you think foldable phones will allow the creation of even larger phones in the future, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

My feeling is that mobile phones are becoming way to large; being in effect used as mini laptops/tablets.

I liked the earlier designs which were small, the battery lasted an age between charges.

The clam shell design worked well too, and having used one a few times when visiting friends, who have pne for use when travelling, I finf that design has much to applaud.

The screen is obviously well protected is one point inits favour. Although I would still keep one in an all enclosing case; much as I have my iPhone 5s.

Rather than encouraging larger phones, I'd prefer they design smaller, more compact via the folding/clam shell design; and also improve battery capacity and life. And ensure batteries can be replaced by the end user too, should said battery die...
