Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Amazon is expanding its Prime service to include free same day deliveries in many cities. Discuss here if you think this will make Prime a viable alternative to brick and mortar stores, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

I think the internet has already become an alternative to brick and mortar stores and this is just a further step. As an internet purchaser I have no general objection - not so sure the store owners would agree though.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I've used Prime in the UK and N.America. Works fine - but the current "annual fee" is only worth it if you actually buy from Amazon often enough to recoup the costs of the service. Invariably non Prime sources cost a little for delivery (occasionally are free) - but if you one doesn't buy much via Amazon the Prime "pay for deal" may "not" be worth it. If Amazon is now going to offer the Prime service "for free' - logically many more will use it possibly to the detriment of some bricks 'n mortar stores...
