Hi all,

This week's poll question is about Netflix's recent price hike for streaming content. Discuss here the reasons you think Netflix did this, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks!
Justin

Its really not that bad for less than the price of a DVD you still get a physical DVD rental and unlimited streaming.

The only way they can really justify this is if there is a huge boost in the streaming categories.

Seriously though for the price of an iPad you could use netflix for decades.

When you break down the cost vs product its still a steal.

Fun Fact: The FF spell check thinks netflix is Linette

actually netflix is garbage as far as I'm concerned....you don't get any new movies, just old junk...it's not worth the money and with a price hike...forget it!!

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

I agree with XPUser. If I want to watch old movies. I can use pay per view.

Well, I had no interest in netflix but they were offering a free month so my wife signed us up for it because she wanted to see what was offered.

After the month ended we decided to keep it.

It doesn't just offer older movies.

I like to watch documentaries and they have a lot available. My wife is enjoying watching some older TV series' (and again, they have a lot available)

Sure they have older movies. So does every movie store and WalMart in north America. What does an old movie rental cost? A couple of bucks. Even the cheapest movies in WalMart will cost you $3-5 each.

My wife and I both happen to like a lot of older movies and enjoy watching an old favorite every now and then. The wife and I don't drink or party and we live in a town that's so small it doesn't have a theatre or anything entertaining to do (they basically roll up the sidewalks around 6 pm) so we watch a lot of TV. So to me the cost of netflix gives me good value.

Each to their own but do keep in mind there's a lot more to netflix than just older movies. At the very least, don't knock it if you haven't tried it..............

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.
