Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news about the recent debate in the United States regarding Net Neutrality. Discuss here if you think the internet can be truly neutral, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

The fact of the matter is that the current state of the internet already has preferred traffic.

Netflix is paying to get guaranteed speeds.

It would be nice but naive to believe the government can actually assure neutrality.

As much as I hate to be pessimistic, it's already gone, and it's not coming back any time soon with corporate-backed funding for politicians.

Even in a book of lies, sometimes you find truth.

it's why we have proxies and haxors huehuehue

But with all seriousness, I second RMT2; it's been gone for awhile, and I don't think any governments can bring it back short of nationalizing half of the world's internet backbones. Looking at you, Russia, looking at you...
