Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that the popular game Myst may be used as a basis for a new TV series. Discuss here if you remember this paradigm-shifting game, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

The only memory of Myst I have is seeing their software boxes in discount bins at CompUSA and other places. I take it it's some kind of fantasy/role playing game.

It might be interesting to see what they do with it but overall I don't think people are dazzled anymore by CGI on their TV screens.

I remember Myst and vaguely remember a prequel or sequel to it. It had still graphics that would advance approx. 20 feet or so when you moved around and an audio track that ran in the background on a continuous loop tailored to the scene you were looking at. IE. If you were down by the water, you would here splashing sounds, seagulls, a bell dinging in the background, etc. you had a lot of puzzles to solve such as the underground tram and how to navigate it. To me, it pushed the limits of your reasoning abilities (yes, I'll admit I had to look up the next move a couple of times on the Myst cheat websites). It also ran on very slow computers which was a bonus for me at the time having only a 386 at my disposal.
