Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that a self-driving shuttle in Las Vegas was involved in a crash on its first day in service. Discuss here if you think self-driving mass transit is coming soon, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

I think it will come but there will be stacks more mishaps before it is anything like right. This one was due to a lorry I gather but I doubt evasive action can properly be built into their algorithms because it involves too many variables

Maybe long term it will be safer than humans but my guess is the accidents will be "different"..

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

English television presenter Jeremy Clarkson has been all over the world in different cars from £500 worth of rubbish to the stupendous Bugatti Veyron. Here's what he has to say about self-drive vehicles. "When somebody who designs one of these gets in it, sits in the driver's seat, folds his hands in his lap and touches nothing, while the car goes along the 'Death Road' in Bolivia, I may, just may, be tempted to buy one."
