Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that global lockdowns are causing additional strain on Internet providers to deliver service. Discuss here if you think the Internet will be able to cope into the future without any major issues, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

It will definitely put a strain on the company-gateways (VPN) when more people work from home.
Internet at home will depend on location; how much bandwidth ISP has allocated for your area and if there is a surge of internet use..

It has been suggested that Netflix, etc. should stream only in low definition for the time being. Sounds sensible to me.

I see that Netflix has now said they will reduce the streaming quality to EU countries as the result of a request from the EU. Whether this also applies to us here in the UK is unclear - one can only hope so.

Good move.
