Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Instagram is experimenting with hiding likes for some users. Discuss here if you think reducing focus on likes will help with user self-esteem, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

Anyone using instagram to gain "likes" must be somewhat lacking in security and self esteem? Else why would they want to have others post like/dislike about them?

I noted recently a comment (on steam radio at least) that Facebook has seen a drop in users... Possibly these "look wot I'm doing etc." sites are starting to lose their glitter...

I think all likes and dislikes should be scrapped on social media. They only cause trouble but unfortunately are needed to keep social media companies alive. These outfits are a bit like drug dealers.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Removing dopamine-spikes hmmmmm, I don't see how that would work out positively for the platform.
