Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that a Google Chrome OS notebook should be going on sale this month. Discuss here if you think Chrome OS is going to be a hit, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks!
Justin

not impressed with Google Chrome. Runs the same on my win7 w 6gig ram box as IE. Loved the ads but I see no speed difference. Kinda like Bing being a "decision" engine. Ya right.

I find google chrome quicker to search but it does eat up my memory on my laptop. always using about 30% of 3GB.

It's interesting to see that most posts are talking about Google Chrome browser, when the topic is Google Chrome OS. I don't know much about the latter, but I understand it's based on Linux, with the major difference being that you can only run web-based applications. So that rules it out for me.

Well I guess I need to learn how to use it. If sells cheap then many will buy it and need it fixed shortly there after.

"If sells cheap then many will buy it and need it fixed shortly there after"

I think you need to read up on it:

"Chrome OS will not be available as a download to run and install. Instead, the operating system will only ship on specific hardware from Google's manufacturing partners"

It's made by Google--of course it's going to be a hit.
I'll never use it.

Speed is nice, have they finally gotten adblock working?

And the interface...EGAD! Ugly blue thing. How come it doesn't use my default OS colors?? I mean I know that's what Vistus and 6.1/7 looks like but still...I hate the fruity smurf look.

Like I said "and need it fixed shortly there after. " I don't care how it got on the computer. It's new and right now someone that knows nothing about computers wants it simply because it is new. Once they have it they will show how computer savy they are and someone will have to fix it.

P.S. Once you have had a neighbor bring you a broken agp card, broken because he tried to force it into a pci slot because it was the newest thing on the market, you tend to expect these things.
