Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Google Maps has rolled out a feature informing drivers of intersections that have traffic lights. Discuss here if you think this feature will help keep the roads safer, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

I would hope drivers might happen to notice traffic lights without having to resort to Google Maps.

What next, an app to help you scratch your ..... ear?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Knowing where the traffic lights are is nice,
but I think knowing the height of bridges & overpasses would be more beneficial,
especially to big rigs who need to navigate in the older cities, that were not designed for them.
How many videos have you seen where a truck has it's roof torn off going under a
too low bridge?

I have the same opinion. There are much more important features that can be developed, like the example with the height of bridges.

I want Google Maps to tell me how much time is left on the traffic light that I am currently approaching.

I could then adjust my speed accordingly, whether the green is about to turn yellow or the red is about to turn green.

(The timed "Walk" signs can be used for green lights, but not all traffic lights have crosswalks)

Adding more clutter will move users to other apps, just as google chrome browser's leaner design attracted users and ultimately changed other browsers to be leaner...

re: "Adding more clutter will move users to other apps"

Unless they make it easy to remove the clutter in the settings.

You know, like Waze. No clutter here...
