Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news of an announcement that the Google Home Mini was spying on users due to a hardware flaw. Discuss here if you think this revelation will hurt demand for smart speakers, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

Dunno but I thought Google spied on users anyhow. How can a "hardware flaw" cause something to spy on users - it makes little sense to me? It must surely take a lot more than a flaw.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Google spies on users everyday. They use Android to collect a lot of data, especially user's conversations so that they can analyse their voices and improve voice search.

I am always concerned about their products, I mean what kind of data they use and what for. I have Google home Chromecast and I now am thinking about making my home smarter. So what I'm thinking about is Google Wifi:

Anyone can give me some tips? Is it worth buying?
