Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Firefox 5 is scheduled to be released in June. Discuss here if you think it will be released on schedule, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks!
Justin

Better question: Why doesn't the Mozilla Corporation just call a release, "Mozilla Firefox version Bestest," and be done with it?

Never worry about new software until it's out, unless you are the one writing it.

Like fred said unless I'm the one with the deadline I don't really care. Won't use it until I have had to fix it for others several times anyway.

Hope it's better than 4.0. So many problems with it.

You need to add an option to your poll - "Don't Care." :)

Firefox 5.... not sure about it, yet.

Firefox 4 just came out, so any nightlies any one of us can compile won't give much hint over 4 yet. :) I just hope Firefox 5 is so awesome it puts IE in its place for good (it's already been doing this with release 3.6--but I mean completely!) :-D It's shameful how IE had stomped Netscape's share back in the day--it's time for Firefox to avenge that. :)

Firefox 5, I'm really hoping will have HTML 5 support ahead of the other browsers, except for Safari 5, of course.

Come on, Firefox! Turn 5 soon.

They just announced today that IE 10 won't run on Vista, so they are either trying to kill Vista's already-paltry market share...or Internet Explorer's. I assume those Vista users will migrate to Firefox or Chrome.

I might also add that Vista users got the "ultimate" shaft. If they paid $400 for the Ultimate version of Vista, it just cost them $100 per year to run an operating system that is now being "out-dated" by Microsoft.

sdfox 7: If they paid $400 for the Ultimate version of Vista, it just cost them $100 per year to run an operating system that is now being "out-dated" by Microsoft. they paid twice as much for obscure functionality that no one used, and was present in the cheaper business versions.

Fixed it for you. I also seem to recall Microsoft saying they were going to make the Ultimate version "worth it" by offering special downloads for Ultimate users, but I don't think they ever did.

I just upgraded to 4 this evening and it crapped out on me two hours later. Uninstalled 4 and re-installed 3.616, which was running well. I am not anxious to try 5 any time soon.

From the sounds of it, I'm one of the few people who haven't had problems with FF4. Well, after I enabled the old Menu Bar and installed Status-4-Evar.

I had firefox whatever.whatever for a while. School said I should download it because I may need it for some classes. That was about a year and a half ago and I still hadn't used it so I uninstalled it.

... no prob's with FF4 when I updated!

... just did'nt overwrite anything, uninstalled through "add remove prog's"

... then deleted the content from:
C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Application Data\Mozilla

... rebooted then installed FF4 fresh
