Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news of continuing issues for Facebook surrounding its lax controls when it comes to user data. Discuss here if you think its reasonable to expect social media companies to do more to protect this data, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

Clearly all these sites set out to exploit the unwary. Security - wot sekurity?

Naive to expect the companies to seriously consider end users privacy; since by exploiting their content they (the companies) can make money... - which is why they were setup.

Simple solution to it all - don't use Facebook or other similar sites. Why people feel the need to post all manner of info about themselves, and then sit back whilst the site plunders their contacts lists too - is beyond my ken.

I find it amusing that Facebook users are now upset. How did they think Facebook made money?

It's much more fun to have a false account, go on there once or twice a week and wind people up.

It's not lax security it is how social media companies make their money.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
