Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Comcast has announced an upcoming cable box that will support 4K content. Discuss here if you think other cable companies will soon follow, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Not entirely sure how many people will actually have the televisions to be able to support 4k resolution. Also it seems that traditional cable tv may be on its way out with the rise of streaming. I would guess that other providers will follow suit, as it's just the next step in the evolution.

I agree with winipconfg as to the number of people that will have 4K tv sets. Right now, they're very pricy. A lot of people I know still use crt tv's. What will it cost to subscribe to 4K etc. I have a 42" plasma with 720 dpi and I'm more than happy with that. I would be more concerned with the quality of tv programming than with the resolution. A large majority of the shows aren't worth watching. Technology has improved, quality of programs has degenerated as far as I'm concerned. I won't be buying a new tv any time soon.
