Hi all,

This week's poll question is about all the latest controversy surrounding police officers and procedures. Discuss here if you think police should wear cameras to protect both themselves and others, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

Living in a city where killer cops have been a problem for several years, where the DA forms sham grand juries to justify not prosecuting them and where the police department came out on the losing end of a DOJ investigation I think it's a good idea.

Cops here now have to wear lapel cameras. They've already caught some instances of unsavory comments and behavior. And those are just the ones that were made public. Of course getting them to turn the cameras on has been a problem. Or their excuse for not recording an incident is often, 'gee it must have malfunctioned'.

I think it's a great idea. Dash Cams, Body Cams, Cameras everywhere.

If for no other reason than for the entertainment value. Case in point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XFB...

Seriously though... I understand it would be quite an expense (because it always boils down to money) especially for smaller towns. However, in my opinion, it's a good thing to protect both the public AND the police.

I guess he ought not to give up his day job - just yet.. Clearly he was a "star" from a "Tiny Talent Show" from an earlier time...
