Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Blackberry's CEO sees a strong focus on security as the company's path to success. Discuss here if you think this strategy can save Blackberry, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks!
Justin

I suppose that concept makes sense, as they were dead last in security until recently. I had a blackberry once, I will stick with my Lumia now..

Haaving purchased a Blackberry Bold for £100's, having it fail, then finding BB do not offer support in the UK, my vocabulary has increased by two words:-

NUKED and BRICKED

Learnt these from the many others in the same predicament.

Perhaps the BB CEO should address these issues first.

Good Luck - Keep us posted

Mmm. I have a BB9700 - which worked "well" for a little over 2yrs. Then the rodent button developed a fault. Needing another phone immediately I was persuaded to move to the 9900.

Not a patch on the 9700... Ergonomically poor; uncomfortable to use - the 9700 was much better in both respects. 9900 frequently requires reboot to find o2 signals...; 9700 no such problems.

The chap who repaired my 9700 - very reasonable fee - was not at all complimentary about most of the BB range that followed the 9700,,, He's been involved with mobile/cell phones from day one - and generally seems to know his stuff...

All the security in the world will not redeem BB reputation and sales though. Poor aftersales, unreliable hardware; clunky software, erratic touch screen. May have put them beyond redemtion...

I prefer the style of mini keyboard to a touch screen system, and they are now getting fewer and fewer... So that aspect (mini keyboard - if they provide it) "may" help them survive - if they create high level of security systems, and reliable software and hardware...
