Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Apple has announced a stylus for the iPad Pro called "Pencil." Discuss here if you think people will use this, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

Excuse me but 'pencil' already has a definition. It is the life long union between one length of graphite lead and one strip of wood. We don't need a bunch of liberals trying to redefine what has worked perfectly well for thousands of years.

Humph

And a "stylus" was well defined by the Romans in days of yore...; and also the Babylonians and even earlier by the Sumerians too...

So Apple and M$ etc. will really have to coin a "gnu" word for their "device accessory".

I absolutely agree, "stylus" was the title for my exercises book of Latin translations at high school in days when only sci-fi fans knew about computers.

The race to unuseful technology seems to be endless.

I guess Steve Jobs is rolling in his grave.

Steve Jobs Totally Dissed the Stylus 8 Years Before Apple Pencil

Were he alive he would have fired Tim Cooks and his hand-picked executives.

Wonder how long before the wheel is re-invented and redesigned to be square... Greater stability, easier t park on a hill; less likely to roll back when starting to move... Or "log" sections are presented as the latest in the current design...

Anything for a buck. I wonder if idiots will stand in line for hours to get one. I'm waiting for the "Quill", The ink well will actually be the charger. If you brush against the screen, it will smear. First the cool thing was how small can we make something, now the trend is back to bigger is better, Get an Ipad, an easel and a keyboard, and what do you have. A laptop. Someone's confused.

iPencil for iDiots.
But seriously, I've been using a fine tipped stylus for several years now. There are times when a fine tip is needed over a finger.
