Hi all,

This week's poll question is about Apple's newly announced iPad with the Retina display. Discuss here if you think this is going to further solidify Apple's dominance in the tablet market, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

I guess from the amount of responses to this thread, there aren't a whole lot of Mac fans in here. I personally don't have a tablet or want one. I still hold to the belief that apple products are overpriced for what they do. For the price of an Ipad, you could get a really decent laptop. With the new ultra slim laptops out today, and what they do, compared to an Ipad, why would you want a 10 inch tablet. Just my two cents. See what others say.

I personally like anything that is Windows based. I'm used to the way programs are shown in the Start Menu (although that may change with Windows 8) and how to access settings. I don't want to spend 10 minutes trying to figure out how to change the display brightness on an iPad or some other tablet I dumped $500 into.

On the poll the choices were "amazing", "OK" and "unnecessary".

Everything about the iPad is "unnecessary" but it is a forward-looking device full of technology.

I think fairer choices would be "Amazing", "OK", and "I don't like it", because you could find it both "amazing" and "unnecessary".

Many people find a Rolls-Royce amazing but compared to any mainstream vehicles the added features and pizzazz are "unnecessary".
