On one hand, history says they can't. On the other hand, they're the gold standard in the smart phone / tablet industry, and at the moment their only serious competition is Samsung. I think they'll go at least 10 years after Job's passing.

After that, we'll see.

Yeah I think Jobs was crucial to Apple's survival. Kind of like how Lee Iacocca was the right guy to keep Chrysler together after the 1979 bailout. The right person in the right place at the right time.

Jobs passed away when Apple was already super popular, so from my point of view, Apple has become so popular that this is impossible to lower its fame.
