Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Apple may soon offer customers a cheaper version of the Macbook Air. Discuss here if you think this move is long overdue, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks!
Justin

Macs have always been overpriced in my opinion. I personally don't see the fascination with ultrabooks, Ipads, tablets etc. I understand the new mac air, along with the other ultrabooks, have no dvd player. The mac also has no usb 3.0 ports or even a simple hdmi output. The slim design and much longer battery life is appealing, but at what price. It just seems to me that the consumer is always getting less for more these days. Even if they drop the price to $800.00, it's till too much. I'll pass on the new fad.

Apple reducing prices, in your dreams maybe, the cheapest thing you can get from the are the accessories or the ipod shuffle other than those everything else is way overpriced macbook pro with a intel i7, 4gb , 750gb and random ATI graphics chip for £2100, a windows based computer with the same specs will save you over £1000.
Macbook airs are probably worth about £500 -£700, anyway the £800 version is the one with the lowest specs.
