Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Google is reportedly getting more aggressive in trying to convince Android manufacturers to update their phones. Discuss here if you think this strategy will work, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

No updates -> more drive to buy new devices. Android manufacturers, especially the more obscure ones, are more prone to this than even Apple is.

My family owns three different types of devices (ZTE, HTC, and one other obscure model), and none has gotten updated from Android 4 yet. Granted they're cheaper (sub $200) devices, but that still shouldn't exclude them from getting updated to even the latest version of 4.

Hello, Justin, hope you remember me. I am the guy from this post -

Well, I still use Jellybean lite (modded by me, for 128mb RAM) and my 256mb RAM device runs everything as if its got 512mb RAM, and to be honest I'm happily alive with that.
What's on updates? Interface changes? I don't use any google stuff, doesn't matter for me.
