Hi all,

This week's poll question is about news that Amazon is launching "Amazon Key" which includes options to let Amazon delivery people deliver products inside your house. Discuss here if you think people will use this service, and, if you like, the poll results themselves.

Thanks,
Justin

Regardless of Amazon's (or any other companies similar) assurances re' security considerations... allowing just "anyone" to have key access into one's property is simply asking for trouble...

The Amazon collect centres, and even arranged alternative drop off to a neighbour is by far the safe option?

But no doubt there will be some who will go for it - and likely be OK about it; and of course a few will live to regret it...

Hmm - I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole but I guess some may.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I agree with both of the above comments. Also, this is simply protecting Amazon. If they leave something on the porch and it disappears, Amazon is responsible. Give them access to your property and their problem is solved.

In worst case scenario, the delivery person could say they had left the package indoors, but hadn"t; simply keeping it for themselves... And of course there are ways start a duplicate key process once one has a key, even if one has the key for a few minutes only.... Which again renders one vulnerable to later uninvited visits...
