Can I view old posts on this website?

I used to be able to review all of my previous posts/questions on this website. Under my home, I no longer see an option to do that. Is there any way to view my old posts that I posted to the forum from the past? Thanks in advance for any replies.

How old are the posts? Many threads older than 10 - 12 years ago were purged. If yours are older than that then that's probably the reason you can't find them. Here's one of the discussions about that:

If they're more recent than that they should be available. How are you keeping track of them? Does anything show in 'tracked threads' in your 'my computing.net'?

Don't forget to preorder your Hatch green chili for this fall. Many vendors ship world-wide. Better hurry. They're picking and shipping now.

Clicking on the posters name gives you the means to read posting history. However the history seem to vary with poster. DAVEINCAPS┬┤ goes back to 2013. Mine however goes back to 2004. But then I don't post that often.
I guess there is a certain amount of storage space allocated to each user.

Hi,

Nigel is correct. Clicking on your name will show you the user info page. That will show your last thousand postings on the site. For users with more postings than that, there is no easy way to find them all. However, when I click on your name, I only see one posting, so I don't believe this limit will affect you.

DAVEINCAPS is also correct that all postings prior to 2006 were purged from the site. If you are looking for postings older than that, you will not be able to find them.

Thanks!
Justin

Were you using the same Computing.Net name in the past?

i guess you can view and reply the older posts in this forum, if you have been properly approved by admin

Re #6

Anyone can view posts if they are still available. To create or respond to posts you have to create or sign into an account (free). That is the principle but If my wording is not quite right then Justin (the webmaster) will probably say so.

EDIT:
In other words it is pretty well like most other forums.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
