AMD Fusion, Another MegiaGX or Savior of AMD?

Specs: Windows XP, Core 2
Will this CPU/GPU combo be another MediaGX flop story, or the piece of hardware that brings AMD into profitability after all these years?

I am assuming that this will mean seperating video from onboard would then be a waste of money.

I would guess it will depend on the price/performance ratios. Integrated graphics is aimed primarily at users that don't demand too much from the graphics.

If, on the other hand they can get better performance out of the graphics without a cost hit then it should bode well for them.

I look at it like integrated sound. Now that HD digital sound is standard, most users don't find a need to install an after market sound card.
