Dear All,

Can anyone clear me doubt..

1. Is Virtual memory = swap slices+swap files or it consists of physical memory too?

2. Is swapfs = virtual memory?

3. How to find out the virtual memory configured in the system from swap -l & swap -s output

Thanks in advance

Ragesh

Hi

Virtual memory = Virtual F/S, Swap space, Swap Space
(The allocation of the virtual space can be obtained fron the systems physical memory)

Issue the #swap -l ==>to view the list of swap spaces

Virtual memory ---> It is combination of physical memory and swap and it wil provide virtual adress to virtual memory

Swap ---> It is a slice or file which is used to provide addtional memory to the physical memory while physical memory shortfall occurs.
