Hello, I want to get samba up and running and need to add /usr/sfw/bin and /usr/sfw/sbin to the root path (using solaris 10, sh as shell). So I created .profile in / (I'm logged in as root for now until I finish this install). Contents of .profile:
PATH=$PATH:/usr/sfw/bin:usr/sfw/sbin
export PATHBut when I
./.profileI get an 'unable to execute' error. If (in sh) I enter:
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/sfw/bin
I get blah blah blah is not an identifier. So my syntax must be screwed up somewhere, but where? This is the latest version of Solaris 10.
Thanks for any help

Um.. yeah I'm dumb. I rebooted and it worked. Not sure why I couldnt get it to work inside the session, I just assumed my syntax was incorrect, but not the case. Cisco
