I go to my security center-it tells me it is currently unavailable because it has not been started or stopped. I can access internet options + auto updates but when i click on firewall it tells me "due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings." It has locked me out from accessing the internet-I tried both explorer + firefox. I am currently downloading Superantispyware software-someone suggested it from another security related problem. I have tried the malicious software cleaner from windows + Windows Defender but it has not helped.( by the way-is that defender any good?) I also run AVG free on this system. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

Generally speaking, none of the free anti-virus softwares are trustworthy or comprehensive enough to give you adequate protection, proof of which is the fact that you've evidently been infected with something.

You need to buy something like Norton Internet Security, I would never rely on anything else and it's never allowed any of the 3 computer's in my family to become hacked into or infected.
