That sounds like malware that's redirecting the links you click on. That was a big problem with google a few years ago.

Try running a malwarebytes scan. It should take care of that. Give me a few minutes to find a download if you're not familiar with it.

Edit Here's a download link if you need it:

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebyt...

Click on the green download button on the left side of the screen, not the one on the top. The download file name should be mbam-setup-1.75.0.1300.exe. It's supposed to be a trial version but should work for your problem.

Flash player pro looks to be legitimate but as you say it's not from adobe. It obviously is trying to make you think it's an adobe product. Part of its installation apparently includes adware. You might check these links:

http://forums.adobe.com/message/516...

http://botcrawl.com/phishing-websit...

so even though it seems to be legitimate it looks like it's associated with scams. You may already have it installed and the popups just want you to update. You can check 'add or remove programs' and see if it shows there. Be careful if you decide to remove it as any flash movies you view may be using it. Their website is here:

http://www.flashplayerpro.com/

You may want to run additional malware scans with different malware detecting software to see if they turn up anything else. I see they've moved this thread to the security and virus forum. Hopefully someone more familiar with 'flash player pro' will post in.

See #2. If Johnw is still around he will probably do a thorough check for this nasty.

I have personal hang-ups about CNet and their downloader. Get MalwareBytes from here instead and this time run it from Safe Mode:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_m...

You might have an unwanted toolbar so scan with ADWCleaner too and see what it finds:

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
