Specs: Windows Vista, 3 GB
Hi All,

My system is Dell inspirion Windows vista home premium. I am facing this problem since 3 days as my C drive gets filled up. Nothing seems to be working fine here as I have already deleted "Temp" files, "prefetch" files and SAP download files but still no free space. Each time I free some space within 3 mins it is getting filled up. I also tried starting the system in "safe mode with networking" and here it shows that C drive is empty by 3GB which is also very less. My C drive is originally assigned 50GB of space and I guess only 20GB is actually utilized. But no idea where the extra 20-30GB data is coming from.
Also noted that the Hibernation power is taking some space as good as 3GB, am not sure how and why is it taking so much space.
I have the CDs for rebuilding the OS but I donot want to go for the same as of now.
Please help me urgently !!

Regards,
Manomeet

have you tried defragmentation to compress your files so that they wont take up as much space?

Hi Skyflo,

As per your recommendation I did check "dropbox.com" but to my understanding it is very useful when we need to store some data and we can access the same from any where.
Also I did try downloading the "uniblue DiskRescue" software which did all good for me as the C drive is having 20GB of free space and also working further on other disk checks and defragmentation can be done directly from this software as well.

Thanks for your time and will keep a close eye on the system performance today.
Will keep you posted of the updates as well.

Manomeet

Putting your email address on the internet without attempting to disguise it will result in the spammers engines finding and you'll get junk email (increasing) forever. I would edit it out from here, click on skyflo's name and either send a personal message containing it or an email. This procedure is safe.

Years ago I made the same mistake and ended up changing my email address when they rose to 120 junk emails per day. It gets worse in time because they pass email addresses on. If you can find your email address in Google then so will they.
