Hi,

Try to connect to other sites like Kaspersky, Mcafee, Microsoft also.

If you can't do it suggest you to try several tools.

Malwarebytes

Hitman Pro

Combofix

You should be able to get at least one of those...

'cant connect to the internet to download norton.'

That could be a blessing! Norton bloatware is pretty useless anymore. You may want to try Avast free, much better than most AV's.

Which way are you trying to connect? Ethernet or wireless?

try it with ethernet. If it still doesn't work, open IE, click on tools/internet options/connections/Lan setting and uncheck proxy if it is checked. Close IE and re-open it to see if you can get online.
