I have a computer with windows XP and you cannot log on. It starts to load personal settings and then logs you right back off. I cannot get into safe mode, causes a fatal error. What should I do next? There is supposedly a password for the user account, but it will not work. When you leave it blank is when it says loading personal settings, then the eMachines background appears, and then it starts into the logging off and back to the startup screen, asking for un and pw again.

OMG don't judge me!

seeing you cannot get into safe mode at all, I would suggest you remove the HD from the problem PC, slave it to another PC and do some virus and spyware removal scans. After that, put it back in the PC and it should boot up for you.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

I ended up just formatting and reinstalling XP. It was easier that way, as my desktop is older and they told me they didn't have anything on their computer that was worth saving. It was viruses, as they didn't have any virus protection.

OMG don't judge me!
