win 7 keeps logging off when sitting idle for 5 minutes or even less, requiring me to put in my password to continue my session

Does it really log off or just lock the computer? There is a different between the 2. Logging off closes down your session, but locking the computer only requires to put your password in and you back to where you were. You might have to change your screen saver settings, which may be set to lock the computer after you move the mouse to turn off the screen saver.
