Specs: Windows XP
Trying to download trial software from cnet. Microsoft saying it does not have a valid signature. Will not complete download.

you may want to save yourself the head-aches by uninstalling AVG and then using Avast Free:
Much better protection and less head-aches in a long run. The choice is yours

See if this works for you:

On Internet Explorer, click on: Tools (at the top)
Select: Internet Options
Select: Advanced tab

Scroll down to the Security heading, and check: Allow software to run or install even if the signature is invalid

Let us know if it works...

well, you can check the rules you set(then you can reset or re-install it) in avg.or you can ask for help from avg website.
