A white box appears with a changing coloured rotating circle in it and the site I am after beneath it. However I try and access google this appears.
Lets see if anything is stopping it. Here is the first step, more steps will be needed, after I see the results of this log.
Step 1: Run AdwCleaner

Close all open programs and internet browsers.
Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
Click Scan
In the results tabs, uncheck anything you don't want to remove.
Click on Cleaning.
Confirm each time with Ok.
Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
Please Copy & Paste the contents of that logfile with your next answer.
You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.

What browser are you using? Is it the same on an alternative browser? Have you tried turning off the router for about 30 seconds. It's surprising how this can fix quite specific network issues.
Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
Hi,
I'm using explorer. My wife and I use the same computer but have separate accounts. It works fine on hers and I can access google just fine. However, on my account I just get the rotating circles.
Try clearing the browser's cache and history... I have found on occasion that resolves "some" connectivity problems with "some" websites.
I would still try powering off the router as it is easy to try. I realise it's quite a long shot as you are on the same computer but I've definitely had it fix the most unlikely of symptoms. While we are into magic type ideas, discharging the motherboard components can unstick computers at times. Again it is easy to try:
Turn off computer, remove power cord, remove main battery too if it is a laptop. Before putting it back together hold the Power Off/On button down for at least 20 seconds. One more thing to try:
From Internet Explorer go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced and hit the Reset button. You will not lose your favorites. Add-on will vanish but they soon come back with usage.Don't overlook response #1 - that program often shows up browser issues.
Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

In the old days viruses could be harmless jokes but those days have gone. They are usually criminal and after something. You did the right thing to get shot of it, although it isn't always essential to reinstall Windows.Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
