Why am I unable to connect to the Internet?

January 31, 2011 at 10:34:49
Specs: Windows XP
I downloaded the free Avast antivirus program, and now cannot connect to the internet. Diagnostic test says check HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP portals and something with my firewall, but I'm not sure how to do this, nor what they mean. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

1- How are you trying to connect?
2- desktop or laptop?
3- Did you uninstall the previous AV correctly?

use the uninstaller from the norton website to remove it properly:

Doesn't matter which version of norton you have, that should do the trick for you.
