Solved What is win32 web storage?

Specs: Windows 10
While strting my computer today a small window Popped up titled win32 and then went away. later I randomly went to check the task view and there is an invisible icon called WebStorage that I can't close or see other than in Task View. What is it and is there anything i should be worried about?

looks like ASUS webstorage, a background service.

do you have an ASUS laptop by any chance?

here is a discussion about it:

the win32 popup is most likely a legit windows background task which somehow hung during startup.
but running a antivirus scan just in case wouldnt hurt.
I recommend getting the premium trial for 14 day versionl from malwarebytes

Wow, you've seen an invisible icon.

Yes, run MalwareBytes. After the trial it will still run on demand, just not in the background. If you don't want it running real time because of possible clashes with your normal anti-virus it is possible to turn the trial part off.

I would be inclined to run this little freebie too (it chases different things to the other one):
Download and "Save" the file somewhere. Go to the saved file then double click it to run the program. Run the "Scan", followed by the "Clean & Repair".

Both of the above are safe, worthwhile and used widely by regulars on here.
