Solved What is the best Parental Control Software for Windows XP ?

December 20, 2011 at 09:55:57
Specs: Windows XP
I had Windows Live Family Safety on my Windows XP computer but I recently had some issues with the computer and had to delete some software and Windows Live Family Safety was one of them. Now that the other issues with the computer has been resolved. I tried to re-install Windows Live Family Safety back onto the computer but it keeps trying to download the most recent version which is only compatible for Windows 7 or Vista. I went ahead and installed thinking it would still work but it's not. I tried to find an old version which is compatible for Windows XP but couldn't find one. I really, really, really like the Windows Live Family Safety but it doesn't work with my computer.. So my question is what is the best "FREE" parental control software available for Windows XP?

Larry tried your link. Still getting the same error message, has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify it's compatibility with Windows XP. When I continued anyway it doesn't work properly. Now it works fine with my other computer which Windows 7. but I need it for the Windows XP as well. So is there another good "free" parental control software that anyone know of????

Family Safety does work on XP. I just did the install and didn't have a problem. The link Larry gave should take you to this link for the download:

http://explore.live.com/windows-liv...

On that page the Download now button should say "Windows Live Essentials for Windows XP" above it. That download the XP version instead of the version for Vista and Win 7. Can you confirm if you are getting the XP download?
